Mr. Close,
I did not know you, but I felt your life through your daughter Karry. You had a wonderful life, did a lot of wonderful things, and raised a beautiful family.
I am sorry you were dealt these cards in tis life. We never know why, and wont until we meet our maker..( which you have done now, and you do have the answers.)
Through your daughters eyes, you were a wonderful person. I believe this, because she is a fine young lady.
You rest now. You have fought a battle and a half. Walk with Jesus, and enjoy..
God bless your family. They are better for having you in their lives. You are their angel

My condolences and sympathies go out to your family. My father, Pete Gallogly, who recently passed away was a close friend of Howards. I got to know Howard through my father. He was a fellow firefighter and a great friend. I know that Howard had a wry sense of humor and he will be missed by many. I was sad to learn that he had so many struggles with his health near the end of his life as my memories of him were as a healthy, strong and robust person. My thoughts are with all of those who loved him and will miss his presence in their world. Howard…do me a favor…give my dad a hug and a hearty handshake and begin where you both left off…enjoying one another’s company with a practical joke or an Irish story to share. May God hold you both in the Hollow of his Hands…Blessings..Maureen Gallogly -Klaboe

Linda,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I am so very grateful that I got to know Howard and you. You both will always hold a special place in my heart as well as Tess and Nick’s. Whenever we have a deep fried pepper, we think about Howard. Those feasts will have a special meaning now. Take care of yourself and many blessings to all.

Don and Chris Licht says
Linda and your family,
I am so sorry to hear about Howard. I was on the Fire Dept. with him his entire career. I have nothing but good memories. He really was a dedicated person and had a great sense of humor. I was at a few hunting camps with him. Howard would sometimes share a secret recipe but it would never turn out the same as when he made it. He might have shared but not exactly 100 percent. The peppers aren’t quite the same. I lost touch over the years since we retired but I will always remember what Howard was all about. He was a genuine person and a friend.
Sincerely Don Licht
