John D. Strozier, 58.
Johnnie D. Strozier was born on November 15, 1954 in Jena, Lousiana. He died unexpectedly in his home in Helena on February 7, 2013 of a heart attack.
By trade he was a mechanical engineer and a mud logger in the oil field. He had a brilliant mind and never short of jokes or card tricks for anyone. He was everyone’s best friend and a mentor to many young people. As someone once said, “John was the truest definition of a man.” A few of his wonderful qualities include his kind heart, generosity, willingness to listen, being there for anyone at anytime, and true genuine compassion for all. He will be remembered by his favorite saying of, “Be good or be good at it.”
Every time it snows we will know you are somewhere else.
He is survived by his wife Maureen “Charlee”; daughters, Melissa Strozier (Jaime Davison) and Kady Wickham; son, Nathan Smithman; brothers, Bobby Strozier and James Strozier; sister, Rita Rebouche and their families and many wonderful friends; mother, Elaine White Strozier. He was lovingly known as “Pop” to his grandchildren; Zachary, Chloe, Dillon, and Nathan Jr. He was proceeded in death by; father, Reverend David John Strozier; late wife, Susie Strozier.
