Michael Lee O’Brien passed away June 7, 2012 outside of Basin, MT from an ATV accident.
Michael was born February 5, 1971 in Abilene, Texas to Michael ‘Pat’ and Johnna (Grant) O’Brien.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved all the latest gadgets. During his life in Montana he worked as a paramedic and teacher for St. Peter’s Ambulance, Boulder Ambulance and Eagle Ambulance. He was a police officer for East Helena Police, Boulder Police and volunteered his time to East Helena Fire.
He leaves behind many friends and loving family.
Funeral services and burial will be held by Hamil Family Funeral Home in Abilene, Texas (325-692-2232).
Mike will be remembered for his silly grin, his unwavering dedication to police, fire, EMS, his way of teaching, helping friends and mentoring peers and co-workers.
He is survived by his parents, Johnna and Pat O’Brien; and family of Abilene, Texas; many friends; and his beloved dog, Samson.
He will be missed….
A memorial is planned in his honor on Wednesday, June 13, at 1 p.m. in the Jefferson High School gym, Boulder, with food and fellowship to follow.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Mikes friends and family at this very difficult time. I will miss our lunches together and my stops by Eagle to visit Mike. I am so fortunate to have been able to build a close friendship with Mike over the last several years. He was always so supportive and such a valuable friend. He will always be missed but never forgotten.
