Randy had a strong sense of civic responsibility. He often served as an election judge and was elected to several terms on the Helena Citizens’ Council. He was also an active member of the Montana Public Employees Association.
After a long struggle with muscular dystrophy, Randy died peacefully on October 18, 2013, in Tacoma, Washington, where he had been a resident in a skilled nursing facility for ventilator-dependent patients. He was 49 years old.

I was deeply saddened to read about Randy’s passing. I have great memories of Randy while he was a student in my history and government classes at Helena High. Yes, this was about thirty years ago, but Randy’s personality and interests made him a memorable person to know.
I recall, too, that Randy invited me to go bowling with him and several of his friends. It was great fun to be able to be with Randy in a venue other than a classroom.
To Jennifer, your sons and the extended Kaiser/Massman families, please accept our heartfelt sympathies.

Randy and I were coworkers at Revenue in Missoula many years ago. We always kept in touch through the years. He married the woman of his dreams and had three beautiful sons. I am so sad the boys will not have their Dad around as they grow up. He was a wonderful person, one of the good guys. Jennifer, you and the boys are in our thoughts and prayers.

I was surprised and sadden by Randy’s passing. I met Randy while working in Helena for the State. Randy was always friendly, outgoing and he always had good things to say about everyone.
Randy and I did not socialize outside the workplace, but remained in contact until my retirement.
My sincere condolences go out to his wife Jennifer and his children. You are in my thoughts and prayers. He was a good man and will be missed.

Randy and I were classmate’s at Helena High 30 odd years ago and I got a chance to reconnect though his son Drew being in class at 4 G’s with my son Mike. It was fun to catch up watching the boys play soccer and at all school events. Randy’s quick smile and enthusiasm watching the kids was infectious. Jennifer and the boys, I am very sorry for your lose.
