Rausaliene Mae “Rosie” Steeves, 94, of Helena, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, at the Elkhorn Health and Rehabilitation in Clancy from natural causes.
Rosie was born Nov. 30, 1915, in Livingston to Oscar and Ruby Latsch. She graduated high school and was self-employed, owning Park Co. Abstract and Insurance in Livingston.
She married Kendall Steeves in Livingston on Sept. 18, 1936, and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage together before Kendall’s passing on May 13, 2001. Rosie loved her family dearly and loved spending as much time with them as possible. She enjoyed playing cards and dominos with her friends at East Park Villas.
Rosie was a devout member of the United Methodist Church. She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star, Bath Zabbia Nile Temple #21 of Billings, Bath Zabbia Nile of Livingston, Grand Cross of Colors, and the Junior Women’s Club of Livingston.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Oscar Latsch; her husband, Kendall Steeves; brothers, Ross and Don Latsch; and a granddaughter, Tammy Jean Steeves.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Ellen) Steeves of Gillette, Wyo., and Saundra (Robert) Olsen of Helena; grandchildren, Chad, Loree and Greg Olsen, Scott and Kelly Steeves, and Tiffany Sparovic; and great-grandchildren, Kendall, Jack, Ramey, Kyndra, Tyler, Bryce, Lauren, Hannah and Johnny.
Family services will be held at a later date with burial in Livingston Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital. Arrangements are under the care of Retz Funeral Home.
