Robert (Bob) Alfred Kjos, our beloved father left us on September 4, 2015 with family at his side. Bob was born on June 18, 1927 in Sandpoint, Idaho. He was married November 19, 1949 to Orlene Dishman for 46 years until her passing in 1996. He is survived by sister, Jane Seward of Kalispell. Also survived by children; Jerri (John) Townsend-Tyler TX, Linda (Mike) Leone-Helena MT, Ora (Linda) Kjos-Helena MT, and Susii (Steve Tobias) Carter-Whitefish MT; grandchildren Sherri, Amanda, Danielle, Kristian, Timothy, Brian and Matthew; great grandchildren; Harston, Davis, Mackenzie, Samantha, Amaya, Adalie, Autumn, TylerAnn and Walker; and great-great grandchildren Alivia and Rachel. Dad will be remembered by his special friend and companion, Helen Goetz. They spent many years together enjoying each other’s company.
He began working for the railroad as a telegraph operator. He then worked for Mountain Bell as an electrical engineer until he retired. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. It was no secret to all who knew him fishing the lakes near Helena in his boat, using the lure he made, was his passion. He enjoyed telling stories, which always had a funny ending. Bob was a carpenter and gardener, and could fix anything. Watercolor paintings he did decorated his home and was admired by all. Goodbye Dad. We love you very much, you will remain forever in our hearts and minds and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank St. Peters Hospice for their compassionate care and also his private nurse, “Rissa” Cover for her special touch in providing care to our Dad.
To honor Bob’s request no services will be held. We appreciate the support of friends and family given to Dad during his illness dealing with ALS and to our family during this most difficult time.

Sorry for your loss; Bob & I are actually distant relatives: his grandfather (Christian) was a brother to my great-grandmother (Kjerste).
David says
I respectfully pass on my best wishes in the passing of Bob. He was a great, intelligent, man, getting together with his camping group, he and Helen loving the outdoors camping with his 5th-wheel, fishing on Canyon Ferry, or where ever his spirit took him. God Bless You.
Vicki Kaiser Willert says

My Mom ( Marge Wood) always spoke with affection about her Uncle Alfred and her cousins in Montana. Jerry and I are in Townsend now and I regret not having been diligent to visit. My prayers are with all of you at this time. I still miss my Mom. Love Pam Wood Solwey

Bob and my mom were companions for nearly 20 yrs. They were such good company for each other and had so many fun times with their many friends and family. Mom misses him terribly and I truly came to love him during the years they spent together. I liked his sense of humor and enjoyed seeing him each time we were in Helena. Mark and I will both miss him. Hugs, Sam & Mark Call
