Guaglio, Louis N., age 56, passed away at home on Thursday, January 9, 2014. Louie was born in Barstow California at Camp Irwin on Jan. 29 1957. He grew up and attended schools in Helena, MT and lived in Great Falls, MT for over 25 years before recently returning to Helena. Louie has enjoyed many work experiences during his life which included a position as an equipment operator and mechanic while serving in the US Army. When he returned to civilian life he worked as a pressman, painter, construction worker, and a semi-truck driver. Most recently he was training as an all around patient assistant at the Fort Harrison VA Hospital in Helena MT. which he liked very much.
Louie was a family man. He enjoyed spending time with the ones he loved, especially his wife Liz, and kids Mike, Nick, and Lacy. He enjoyed camping with his friends and family, fishing, and boating at the lake. If it had a motor and wheels Louie liked it. Cars and motorcycles -he always had a “project” that always seemed to stay a “project”. If anyone could tell a fish story it was Louie, and, that perch that he caught always ended up being a 20-inch brown trout. HIs stories, albeit often tall tales, were sure to make you laugh and if you were willing to lend an ear he could talk for hours. If not telling stories, Louie was talking about his kids, for whom he loved dearly and was extremely proud of.
Louie is preceded in death by his father Natal, mother Eiko, and aunt Sue.
Louie is survived by his wife Liz Guaglio of 25 years and sons Mike Williams, 33, of Bozeman MT, Nick Guaglio, 22, of Bozeman, MT, daughter Lacy Guaglio, 19, of Bozeman MT , and sister Frances Guaglio of East Helena, MT – also daughters Angie and Amy.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery with a reception immediately to follow at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Liz and family. I am saddened to hear of Louie’s passing. We were friends in high school, then lost touch for many years until he and Lacy showed up at my doorstep in Great Falls one Halloween night. It was good to see that same big smile he always had. We talked a few times after that and every time he would say how lucky he was to have such a wonderful wife and children. It warmed my heart to know that he had found peace and joy with you. I am sorry for your loss. Curt
