Michael Leonard Miller a.k.a. “Gramps”, 75, departed this earthly plane to be with God, Sunday, April 22, 2018.
Michael was born March 31, 1943 in Glendale, California, to Samuel and Cleta Miller. He had a difficult childhood and was on his own at the age of 13. He worked for Louisiana Pacific Lumber Co. in Ukiah, California, and eventually moved to Belgrade, Montana with the Louisiana Pacific Mill, where he later retired.
He met his wife, Marilyn, in 2003. When Michael called to ask her out, Marilyn did not recognize his voice. When she asked who it was, he replied, “he was six foot tall and a cowboy” They were married that same year.
Michael was an active member of the South Hills Church of Christ. His interests included: playing video games, taking trips with his wife, and spending time with his grandkids while teasing them as much as possible.
Michael is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, Kenneth Hilbert; daughter, Tamara Denny; grandchildren: Charles Weissman, Karen Gennoe, Michael Staggs, Donavan and Antone Hilbert, Mathiew and Marissa Lebahn, Mackenna and Koner Schmolke; and great grandchild, Krystal Turk.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 30th at South Hills Church of Christ, 2294 Deerfield Ln, Helena. A reception will follow in the social hall of the church after the service. Please visit www.retzfuneralhome.com to offer condolences or share a memory of Michael.
