Myrtle Barbeau, 93 of Helena, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 after a brief illness.
Myrtle was born on the family farm near Wolf Creek on October 19, 1921 to Robert and Ruby Browne. Myrtle spent many happy years enjoying farm life with her grandparents, parents and her sister Vida. She and Vida attended the 7 mile 1 room school from grades 1 thru 8. Myrtle graduated from Cascade High School in Cascade, MT.
During WWII Myrtle lived in San Diego, CA where she worked for Consolidated Aircraft Building B-24 Liberator Bombers. After WWII, Myrtle moved back to Helena where she worked as a Beautician. Soon after, she married Cletius Barbeau of Hackensack, Minnesota. Myrtle retired from the Montana State Department of Justice after 15 years of service and filled her retired years with travel.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Dana Barbeau of Helena, and her niece Vicki Barbeau of Townsend, plus many other Relatives around the country.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10th at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery Committal Shelter at Fort Harrison. Please visit below to offer the family a condolence or to share a memory of Myrtle.
