Patricia “Patty” Ann Weiter passed away peacefully on July 5, 2013 after a hard battle with cancer. She was born to Hans and Mary Weiter on October 28, 1950 in Topeka, Kansas. Patty graduated from Hayden High School in 1968 and later attended Washburn University, Kansas University and Montana State University. She married Jon Burdsall in 1972 and they were blessed with the arrival of their sons Aaron in 1976 and Matthew in 1978. Patty, always the avid caregiver, retired in 2011 after a 35 year career in respiratory therapy. During this time she touched many lives and made many lifelong friends.
Patty was a loving mother and grandmother, as well as a faithful and generous friend. She was quick to laugh and found joy in daily life. When Patty was around, her grandchildren never went without something sweet. She was most at peace while tending to her flowers or creating beautiful pottery. Her love of pottery encouraged her to assist in the founding of the Clay Arts Guild. She loved to be outdoors and spent many summers camping with her children and grandchildren. She found her faith with the Society of Friends. Patty possessed the gift of gab and in addition to her Sunday evening marathon phone visits with her sister Janet, Patty enjoyed many outings with her numerous friends, and later looked forward to her Cancer Support Group meetings.
Patty is survived by her children Aaron Burdsall (Angie) and Matthew Burdsall (Miranda); her grandchildren Jasmyn, Kaelen, Caleb, Talon, Madden and Marley; her siblings Janet Puett, Greg Weiter, Chris Weiter (Linda), Mark Weiter, MaryEllen Weiter, and Kurt (Stephanie) Weiter. She is preceded in death by her parents Hans and Mary Weiter and her daughter Sarah Burdsall.

Although I didn’t know you very long, I enjoyed talking with you at the support group meetings. I was glad that I went to see you and say good-bye last Tuesday. I will miss you and your kindness always.
