Richard Kuhl (Dick), 66, of Helena, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015. He was born June 20, 1949, in Helena.
Dick was raised in Bozeman and spent almost all of his free time as a teenager playing golf. After graduating from Bozeman Senior High he attended the University of Montana in Missoula on a golf scholarship and contributed to the Grizzlies winning the Big Sky Conference Championship in 1968 and 1969. He was a three-time Riverside Club Champion and won the Bozeman City Golf Championship multiple times. He was interested in history and graduated from UM in 1972.
Dick was a kind, compassionate and generous man and was loved dearly by his family and his friends. He would invite anyone who did not have a place to go during the holidays to dinner and made sure he took care of his friends. We will all miss him!

Remember he will always be smiling down, with God, upon those he left behind.

What a great friend Dick was. He would light up when he would tell his stories. Oh how I will miss those stories. He loved to talk about his golfing days and his bartending days in Missoula when he was younger. What fun he had! I remember so many of his stories about his family and growing up. He was so proud of his family and talked of you often. He was genuine and kind to anyone he met and a wonderful friend to me. I will miss him dearly.

The world was a kinder, gentler place with Dick in it. I can’t begin to express what this guy meant to me and only regret that we’d been out of touch for awhile since I moved away from Helena. Good memories abound, however, and will be with me forever…what a dear, sweet person. Love you my friend ~ Linda

The site of Dick Kuhl would always put a smile on my face and make me feel better for seeing him. Maybe the prettiest golf swing in the history of Helena. RIP my friend. Don

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Dick”s family and his many friends. Like Dick, I spent most of my time also hanging around the golf course when I was young. I always enjoyed playing golf with Dick and then having a cold beer to discuss our golf. Rest in peace!
