A longtime resident of Helena and East Helena, Robert “Bob” Stanton passed away peacefully on June 14, 2013 at St. Peters Hospital. Born in Chicago in 1925, his family later moved to Casper, Wyoming. He enlisted in the Army when World War II started and served in the Army Air Force aboard planes based in England.

Bob is survived by his son Kim and daughter Theresa and two grandchildren as well as his long-time companion Jessie McGee of Helena, who shared the same passions. Also surviving Bob are his stepchildren, Beverly Berneathy, Bob Johnson, and Sirley Cayko.
A Military Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, June 17th at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Harrison. There will be a reception at the family’s home, 909 Saddle Drive, Helena, following the service. Memorial in Bob’s name may be sent to the VFW Post 10010, P.O. Box 87 East Helena, MT 59635.
