Joe Mathews says
I’m so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He gave me my first job in the Montana Vocational Rehabilitation Program. He was a great boss and life long mentor to many of us over the years. I will always have fond memories of knowing and working for Bob.
Sincere sympathy to his family.
Nan Cervenka says
I worked for Bob when he was the director of VR and after his retirement & move back to Helena saw him frequently when he lived at Hunter’s Pointe. He always had such a positive outlook on life. He was such a joy to around. My thoughts and prayers are with his children and family.
Sue Brownlow says
So sad to hear that Bob passed away. I remember him as a very bright, energetic yet focused Montana V.R. Director who loved to laugh. His hands were always flying and his feet on the move. He cared deeply about the clients the agency served and all his employees. I thoroughly enjoyed working in Helena as a V.R. counselor during his era.
Peggy Williams says
Bob also hired me into the Vocational Rehabilitation Program. He was always encouraging and he taught me so much. I will always remember his management style–management by walking around. He was the first person in the office every day, and he would browse through people’s in-baskets (back when everything was done with paper) to keep up with what was going on. Frequently you’d find his glasses on top of your basket. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Marilyn Trusty says
When I started my VR career in Havre, MT in 1968, Bob virtually trained me over the phone to provide services for people who came in when the VR counselor was traveling his territory from Wolf Point to Browning which took him out of the office two weeks a month. I have never worked for anyone who was more kind, compassionate and caring for people with disabilities. He treated his VR people the same way. I am sadden by his passing, he will always remain in my memories. Bob will be missed by many. Sincere condolences to his family.
Patti (McDonald) Marshall says
I worked with Bob for several years and have such fond memories of him. What a nice, nice person he was! Bob was a joy to be around and had such a wonderful sense of humor. My sympathies and prayers are with all of his family – I’m sure he is greatly missed.
Rita Munson Gibson says
I’m so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing and wish I could have gotten to know him. His Mum Hazel was my Grandma Ruth’s older sister so that would make us cousins and I wish I could know my Colvin family better. My thoughts and prayers are with Bob’s family at this time of sadness. I remember Grandma telling me that he came to visit her when she was still living here in Helena and his visits she enjoyed very much. She passed away in July and now Bob goes to be with her. Prayers to Bob’s family from my family. ~ Rita
